We first wrote about Israeli startup eToro way back in 2007 when it launched. Since then investors have put more than $8 million into the company. Today they’ll announce that Social Leverage has led a third round, adding $2.4 million more.

What is eToro? It’s commodity, currency and index trading made fun and social. Yes, you read that correctly. eToro puts the sexy into silver trading. Users make trades via a ridiculously easy (maybe too easy) interface. Start off with fake money and see what you’re made of. Yesterday, for example, I quickly lost about 5% of my fake capital on foolhardy and highly leveraged oil and silver trades when I lost my nerve and bailed out a few minutes after jumping in. Maybe when I abandon my day job and start trading full time I’ll learn to do a little research first.

But I can’t deny that it’s a total blast to use eToro. The service makes buying and selling extremely easy to understand, and users seem to agree. CEO Jonathan Assia tells me that users have traded over $100 billion on eToro to date. The average transaction size, before leverage, is $50. Trades made on the site are public for others to view, and successful traders can get quite a following on the service.

If you forget for a minute that you’re using real money and actually buying and selling stuff you might think you’re in the middle of an online game. In fact, Howard Lindzon, the founder of new investor Social Leverage, calls eToro “Zynga for real men,” referring to the fact that there’s actual money being made and lost while you’re playing the “game.”

Lindzon’s interest is worth noting. The eToro model is much like Lindzon’s StockTwits, which shows stock buys and sells in a Twitter-like stream. Assia won’t comment on whether a partnership with StockTwits is coming, but it isn’t hard to bet that some sort of strategic relationship is coming.

The company, which has 1.5 million registered users, has 120 employees in Israel, New York, Australia and Cyprus.

Vielleicht auch mal ganz interessant zu lesen, wie Gerichte in bestimmten Konstellationen Entscheidungen treffen und welche Argumentationen teilweise dahinter stehen.

Hier mal eines aus dem FX-Handel.

Ein privater Devisenhändler hat mit Forex-Geschäften 160.000 Euro verloren. Inwiefern der Hersteller der Trading-Software zum Schadenersatz verpflichtet ist, hatte das Oberlandesgericht Hamm zu entscheiden.

Was war passiert?
Der Beklagte ist ein Hersteller von Trading-Software, die ihre Anwender unter anderem beim Handel auf dem Devisenmarkt unterstützt. Er hatte dem Kläger, einem privaten Forex-Händler, im September 2013 eine solche, von ihm entwickelte Software zur Verfügung gestellt. Der Vertrag der Parteien sieht eine Beteiligung des Beklagten am Gewinn des Klägers vor und weist auf das Risiko eines Kapitalverlustes hin, der bis zum "Totalverlust" gehen könne.

Ein Anbieter der scheinbar mit dem Forum "Forexfabrik" zusammen arbeitet und u.a. Tools für MT4 Trading anbietet.

Plus Coaching und die bereits bekannte Business Maschenerie.

Laut der Webseite wird ein Ultra Fast Trader angeboten, der sehr an OneClick Trading angelehnt ist. (Kostenpflichtig zur Miete oder Kauf)

Auch soll es möglich sein, Tick und Sekundencharts im MT "herzustellen".

Habe nichts getestet, aber vllt. für den einen oder anderen von Interesse.

Ich habe mich nach einem schwerem Unfall vor fast 2 Jahren vom Daytrading seit einigen Monaten weitestgehend verabschiedet und bin nur noch als Positionstrader im längerfristigen Handel aktiv.

Daher auch nur noch sehr selten am Rechner anzutreffen, verbringe meine Zeit mittlerweile etwas anders und weniger hektisch.

Kennt jemand zufällig die Qualität dieser Daten bzw. kennt einer eine Quelle wo ich mir M1 Daten in guter Qualität runter laden kann in csv bzw hst dann halt über den Umweg von MT4?

Frage zu Introducing Broker

Immerhin - und das will ich gerne lobend hervorheben - bemüht Ihr Euch um ein sauberes Image. Gerade im Bereich der Vermittlung a la Introducing Broker gibt es unzählige schwarze Schafe. Einige davon ziehen durch diverse Finanzforen und preisen an, wie viele Lots sie dem "Kunden" zurückzahlen, wenn sich jener über den IB Link bei einem Broker registriert. Namen nenne ich jetzt keine - kann sich jeder angesprochen fühlen, den es betrifft.

Introducing Broker liest man öfters. Was genau kann man sich darunter vorstellen?

Avast! blockiert MBT Navigator

Ich kann leider im Bereich 'FX Broker' kein neues Thema erstellen, deshalb hier ein kleiner HInweis:

User des MBT Navigators(also auch an die NT User bei MBT) sollten vorerst auf die Nutzung der 'Avast!' Antivirensoftware verzichten. Die neue Version blockiert die Navigator Schnittstelle und führt zu einem Freeze der Bid/Ask Werte bis hin zum Absturz der Plattform. Leider fällt das nicht immer sofort auf, und auch eine Blockmeldung fehlte mal und kam ein andern mal sehr sehr spät.

Da der Spaß für den Nutzer sehr teuer werden kann hab ich eine entsprechende Botschaft, mit den Dateinformation sowie einer Kopie der Datei zur Überprüfung, an 'Avast!' geschickt.

Das Nutzen der Ausnahmeliste für die Datei hat leider nichts an der Blockade des Scanners geändert.

Bis zur Lösung des Problems ist Vorsicht geboten. Die Sache macht mich darüber hinaus sehr nachdenklich bzgl. der Eingriffsrechte verschiedener Virensoftware und deren Folgen für das reibungslose Funktionieren des Alltagsgeschäfts.

Morgan Business Trial Group Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Second Forex Dealer

The Business Trial Group of Morgan & Morgan, P.A. has filed a class action lawsuit against FXDirectDealer, LLC (FXDD) alleging fraud and racketeering by one of the nation’s larger Forex dealers.
The lawsuit, filed on February 11 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Manhattan Division), is the second class action lawsuit filed by the firm against Forex dealers in the past week, alleging fraud, deceptive trade practices, and racketeering. On February 8, The Business Trial Group filed a similar case against Forex Capital Markets, LLC (FXCM). As in the FXCM case, the suit alleges that FXDD has defrauded thousands of customers using deceptive and unfair trade practices, including falsely portraying its Forex trading platform as “transparent,” when instead it is a “rigged game,” designed to systematically separate customers from their money.
The Plaintiff, Hugo Cruz, brought the action on behalf of himself and all other similarly situated FXDD customers, accusing FXDD of fraud by misrepresenting its trading platform as one that is free from dealer intervention or manipulation. Instead, Cruz alleges, FXDD uses a number of devices and tricks, including software applications, designed specifically to manipulate and interfere with customers’ trades.

Like the FXCM case, the suit alleges that FXDD uses specially designed software to manipulate trading and “loot” its customer accounts, and also that FXDD lures its customers by promoting a “demo account,” which was touted as providing customers with a true market trading experience. Instead, the suit alleges, the demo account does not reflect what FXDD does when the customer begins “live” trading.

Lead Trial Counsel Tucker H. Byrd, of the Morgan & Morgan Business Trial Group of Orlando, Florida, stated, “We are continuing to bring legal action for redress of wrongs that we believe have occurred to thousands of Forex customers for years by dealers who have been entrusted with their customers’ money. Unfortunately, many Forex dealers engage in questionable practices, and we intend to pursue any and all of them until we have put an end to these abuses.”
The Business Trial Group teamed up with the renowned Morgan & Morgan Class Action Group headed by attorneys Scott Weinstein and Andrew Meyer in filing this lawsuit. Attorneys James Byrd, Jr., J. Carlos Real and Damien Prosser of the Business Trial Group and Rachel Soffin and Tamra Givens of the Class Action Group round out the Morgan Forex team.

Die Online-Bank Swissquote expandiert in ihrem Devisenhandels-Geschäft weiter und übernimmt die auf Forex-Handel spezialisierte MIG Bank mit Sitz in Lausanne. Über den Kaufpreis sei Stillschweigen vereinbart worden, teilte Swissquote am Mittwochmorgen mit. Die akquirierte Bank soll nun mit der Swissquote Bank fusioniert werden.

Der dänische Milliardär Erik Damgaard steigt ins FX-Geschäft (kennt vielleicht der eine oder andere aus dem Umfeld von Full Tilt Poker) ein.

Projekt nennt sich Straticator und sieht sich als Konkurrenz-Tradingplattform zu etablierten Lösungen. Wer will, kann sich das Ganze mal in einer Demo ansehen, Registration wäre zuvor erforderlich.

Angeregt durch einen Beitragin unserem Forum, habe ich mich auf die Suche nach frei zugänglichen Informationen zu historischen Wechselkursen gemacht.

Erste Adresse war in dem Fall die kanandische Oanda, Marktführer im Bereich Currency Trading.

Wie ihr am Bild erkennen könnt, bietet Oanda eine Möglichkeit an, historische Kurse der MajorPairs abzurufen.

Suche Broker bei dem Handeln aus dem Chart möglich ist

Hallo Leute,

bin noch ein Frischling in diesem Board, aber auch im richtigen Handel mit CFD´s , Forex und Co.

Hatte schon einige Demokontos bei diversen Brokern. Allerdings sind die meisten mit dem Metatrader verbunden.(der scheint mir hin und wieder recht langsam zu reagieren bis die Order plaziert ist.)

Ich will schnelle handeln können und meine Orders im Chart ändern bzw gleich positionieren können.

Zudem sollten sie hegbar sein und auch nur Teilweise änderbar sein, also von z.B 5 Lots erstmal schnell 2 Lots rausnehmen .

Es gibt doch solche Anbieter bzw Software nur wo und das zu vernünftigen Konditionen?

Hab ein Beispiel und würde gern wissen ob jemand vielleicht diese Plattform kennt auf der Herr Friedrich Dahle(wurde hier auch schon diskutiert, die Strategie) tradet.(ist keine Werbung hoffe man darf das hier linken)

Habe mir jetzt einige Videos reingezogen, besonders gefallen mir die Erklärungen zu Korrelationen und insbesondere zu den CarryTrades.

Im nachfolgenden Video zu den Carrytrades werden in den ersten 16 Minuten die Basic's (Carrytrades, Overnight-Positionen, Rollover, Swaps...) erklärt.

Ab ca. 16 Minuten 30 werden die "wichtigen" Währungen klassifiziert nach Finanz-, Neutral- und Carrywährungen bzw. nach Sicherheits- bzw. Risiko-Währungen. Es wird auch schön auf Intermarket-Korrelationen eingegangen.

GFT exits U.S. retail foreign exchange business

GFT has shut its foreign exchange retail brokerage business in the United States to focus on institutional business in both the United States and globally, the firm said on its website on Monday.
Terming it a "difficult business decision," the firm said all U.S. retail forex customers were placed on a "position closing-only basis" from 7 p.m. on Sunday.

"We understand that this is an inconvenience for you, so we are working to make arrangements with one of our high quality institutional partners to accept the GFT U.S. retail forex accounts," the firm said. "We expect that your forex account will return to its normal status soon so that you can continue trading forex markets normally."

AM war in Europa nicht so bekannt, hatte aber ein gutes Standing. Vor allem, da sie sich technologisch auf DMA-FX konzentriert haben.

Nach MF Global steht die nächste Pleite eines US Brokers in den Büchern...

The U.S. futures industry reeled on Tuesday as Iowa-based broker PFGBest collapsed after regulators accused it of misappropriating customer funds for more than two years, dealing a new blow to trader trust just months after MF Global's demise.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which along with industry regulators had given a clean bill of health to dozens of brokers following spot checks in January, alleged that the firm's regulated Peregrine Financial Group (PFG) unit and its owner had defrauded customers and lied to regulators in order to hide a shortfall that now exceeds $200 million.

"The whereabouts of the funds is currently unknown," the CFTC said in a complaint against PFG and its founder and chairman, Russell R. Wasendorf Sr., whose suicide attempt on Monday morning outside the firm's Cedar Falls, Iowa, offices appears to have precipitated the crisis.

Vielleicht kennt der eine oder andere die Firma. Sind im Futures-Trading eine bekannte Größe, aber auch im Forex-Spot Markt.
