Kenne diese Gegend sehr gut und bin froh, das das "Feuer" im Hohes Venn unter Kontrolle ist. white_flag.gif

"Das Feuer weitet sich nicht mehr aus", sagte der belgische Feuerwehrsprecher Vincent Bastin am Dienstag (26.04.11). Die befürchteten Torfbrände seien ausgeblieben. Die Löscharbeiten in dem Hochmoor werden schätzungsweise noch zwei bis drei Tage dauern. Der Brand war am Montagnachmittag gegen 16.30 Uhr im deutsch-belgischen Naturschutzgebiet Hohes Venn in der Eifel entdeckt worden. Der Brandherd lag nach Angaben der wallonischen Natur- und Waldbehörde (DNF) in der Provinz Lüttich, rund 30 Kilometer von der deutschen Grenze entfernt.
