Bye, bye Königsklasse, willkommen in der Europa League! Die Roten und die Blauen aus Manchester sind raus aus der Champions League. Das Ausscheiden von City kam nicht mehr überraschend, da sie es nicht mehr in eigener Hand hatten (Neapel gewann bei Villarreal). Eine echte Sensation aber war die Niederlage von United in Basel. Der Startruppe um Wayne Rooney hätte ein Unentschieden zum Einzug in die KO-Runde gereicht.
