Nach Informationen, die der Finanzaufsicht BaFin vorliegen, wenden sich Unbekannte in WhatsApp-Gruppen und Chats an deutsche Anlegerinnen und Anleger. Die Initiatoren solcher WhatsApp-Gruppen treten vorgeblich als „Bank of America“ bzw. deren Zweigniederlassung in Frankfurt am Main auf. Es handelt sich um einen Identitätsmissbrauch unter Verwendung von Namen ehemaliger Mitarbeiter des Instituts, die missbräuchlich genutzt werden.
