City Index Verlust 2009 - £90 Millionen

Geschrieben
Accounts to be filed at Companies House early next year will show that City Index made a £61.1m loss in the year to March 2009 as the spread betting firm wrote off bad-debts and goodwill on acquisitions.

In the previous year the group made a £30m loss.

City Index wrote off £35m in 2009 after clients defaulted on trades, a small decrease on the £43m of write-offs in 2008. Just a handful of clients have accounted for the vast majority of the losses.

The company also wrote off £22m of goodwill in connection with its acquisition of IFX Markets. The company also incurred £3.5m of restructuring costs.
