Unfortunately FXCM does not pay much attention to the Metatrader Solution. According to the customer desk I've recently talked they are promoting their own trading software and just offer MT4 on demand and only for certain clients. Maybe they change their opinion when they get a better feeling for the domestic market and what clients usually prefers. To open a German Desk was a wise decision, but probably only one step in the right direction. Grabbing marketshare needs more efforts I guess.

You don't need metatrader with FXCM. They have their own trading platform that's much better. It's more reliable, easier to use, and even looks better.

Seems you are not not very convinced about Metatrader . But i agree, MT4 is not suitable for manual trading. Which platform do you prefer instead, FXCM Active Trader or the FX Trading Station?

Just an update concerning the statement I've recently quoted;

 

 

“We have received tremendous demand for our No Dealing Desk MT4 platform. Through our partnership with Boston Technologies, we are able to leverage their technical expertise and widen our MT4 offering. Offering demos and expanding the selection of base currencies, as well as offering programming assistance, is just the start. Very soon we hope to be offering free, lifetime VPS hosting as well,” said Marc Prosser, chief marketing officer at FXCM.
