Du machst mich neugierig Wenn der Markt sich in diesen 5 Minuten entsprechend bewegt und du dabei den richtigen Einstieg erwischt hast, kann es ordentlich in der Kasse klingeln. In der Realität kommt es aber meistens so, dass du dir nach spätestens 5 Minuten keine Gedanken mehr um deinen Einsatz machen brauchst. ;) Betfair Sport- oder Finanzwetten? Ich frage deshalb, da sich kürzlich ein Sportwettentrader angemeldet hat, der wegen der unsicheren Rechtslage bei Wetten nach Alternativen im Finanzbereich sucht. Falls diese Meinung auf Forendiskussionen hier oder anderen Foren beruht, so möchte ich dich darauf hinweisen, dass Debatten durchaus mal hitzig sein können. Das was Seppl widerfahren ist, muss nicht stellvertretend für eine generelle Geschäftspraktik stehen. Die Statements der User sind oftmals sehr emotional und basieren auf subjektiven Empfinden. Es ist deshalb nicht auszuschließen, dass jemand der sich getäuscht fühlt, seinen Frust entsprechend addressiert. Andere Kunden können dagegen vollauf zufrieden sein. Um sich ein Gesamtbild vom Unternehmen machen zu können, ist es notwendig, sich selbst damit zu beschäftigen. Ich selbst sehe z.B. kein Problem darin, 100 oder 200 € in den Sand zu setzen, wenn ich die Gewissheit bekomme, dass mir dadurch weitere Verluste erspart geblieben sind. Noch ein Punkt der möglicherweise FÜR ChoiceOdds sprechen könnte. Die Firma wurde im Januar von MF Global (ehem. MAN Financial) übernommen. Damit steht jetzt ein milliardenschwerer Broker hinter dem Unternehmen. Es gibt gerüchte, das CO zu einem lizensierten Finanzdienstleister umgebaut werden soll. Im Moment sind sie noch Buchmacher, daher kommen u.a. auch die Einschränkungen für Kunden mit Wohnsitz Deutschland. Commodities are booming as recession-wary investors seek returns outside of traditional asset classes. Supply constraints, emerging-market demand and pure speculation have all bid up prices, with records and 'psychological barriers' being broken almost weekly. Oil Oil has surged to new all-time highs – close to $110 a barrel – boosted by the announcement from western countries' energy watchdog the International Energy Agency that oil demand would be robust in 2008. The IEA said that global oil demand is expected to grow by 1.7 million barrels a day, up from 0.9 million b/d in 2007, with demand hitting an average 87.5 million b/d. As a result, futures prices for as far as February 2009 have traded over $100 a barrel, with forecasters warning there is little sign of relief from high oil prices in the short term. Wheat Wheat is riding high as stock shortages continue to push prices up. In late February wheat hit a record $13.495 a bushel in Chicago on the back of speculation that farmers will not meet global demand this year, with bread makers and other consumers competing for shrinking supplies. More recently, the US cut its forecast for domestic stockpiles by 11 per cent due to increasing demand and over the last year wheat futures have doubled as adverse weather conditions have battered crops around the world. Gold Wary of the constant threat of a US recession on the horizon, investors have been flocking to gold as it hits repeated highs and creeps closer to $1,000 an ounce. The weaker US dollar has increased demand for bullion as investors seek a refuge in commodities – gold is cheaper for holders of other currencies when the dollar falls. Of course, if the dollar strengthens it makes gold costlier for those holding other currencies and can often lower demand. Coffee Expectations of supply shortfalls are also affecting the price of coffee, which surged to its highest level in 12 years in February on the back of concerns over stock levels. The International Coffee Organisation has anticipated global consumption of around 123 million bags of coffee in the year to October 2009, although output is only expected to be between 123 million and 126 million bags, pushing prices sky high. Can the commodities boom survive a potential US recession - or is this a bubble set to burst? FSA publishes commentary on systems and controls, in light of the Société Générale 'rogue trader' FSA/PN/022/2008 11 March 2008 The Financial Services Authority (FSA) today published Market Watch 25, which focuses on firms' reviews of their systems and controls in light of the Société Générale (SG) 'rogue trader' incident. Since SG's announcement on January 24 2008, FSA supervisors have spoken informally to some 50 of the largest trading banks in London. Many have already put in place reviews to identify and correct gaps that may exist in their trading controls. Market Watch highlights the measures firms should consider when reviewing the systems and controls which protect them against 'rogue trader' risk. In the current volatile market environment, with the risk of inappropriate practices quickly leading to significant losses, early discovery and remedial action are even more important than in more benign conditions. Amongst other areas, Market Watch looks at: Front office culture and governance, in particular are traders encouraged to take two-week continuous holidays, and appropriate segregation of front office staff from middle and back office functions; The use of suspense accounts; The quality of management information, both routine and outside normal parameters; and Elementary IT precautions, such as whether access to systems is password dependent. Sally Dewar, FSA MD of Wholesale and Institutional Markets, said: "We are encouraged that many firms in London with significant trading activities are working to satisfy themselves that their basic controls and governance surrounding trading, risk management and settlement are effective. But the risks remain, and we would urge firms to remain vigilant on unauthorised trading, especially in current market conditions." The FSA will continue to engage with firms on these issues over the coming months and will also maintain its current regulatory dialogue with international colleagues about this incident and the wider issues it raises.
